PREFACE:
I had the opportunity to experience & shoot at NEW YORK STRONG at PIER 94 in NEW YORK CITY, NY in December of 2019.
The entire experience is an event I will never forget due to the range of dynamic speakers from all aspects of the Fitness & Motivational Community, where I learned long life concepts I apply in my daily life.
From a photographers perspective, this was a VERY challenging event to shoot because of the lights with banding, dark house lights, and focus pulling from my EF 70-200 f2.8 III which I later found out from Canon Professional Services was off calibration due to shooting back to back PGA TOURS & a lot of traveling.
Although I did shoot some AMAZING shots, I could not figure out for the life of me why I have to have so many issues pulling focus at one length in particular.
After returning home viewing all the pictures, I thought most was lost due to this issue and just the overall graininess of the shots with the banding, which I did fix with the "FLICKER" setting.
Getting creative in post-production is a skillset every photographer must-have, and MADE it WORK with various filters & changing many pictures to Black & White, which worked well with the grainy pictures.
As I look back at the pictures I've posted to Instagram, they've become some of my favorite due to the shadows, expressions, and just overall. FEEL of emotions.
